I have this horrible habit I do while watching TV - it's online shopping. I really should stop watching TV... BUT, look at the new Bamboo wedges I got from Lulu's! Super comfortable and of course, cruelty free because wearing dead animal skin on your feet, or anywhere, is gross. You can order yours here.

No, you didn't misread that. I have been loyal coffee drinker since I was 14. First it was black with two sweet and lows. Then it was add some soy milk. And by my college years it was add like, ten shots of espresso please! Recently I went on vacation with my boyfriend (I included a photo of us on vacation just because) and I decided to ditch coffee for those ten days. When we got back, I figured I'd just keep going. AND, strangely my mid-day headaches and tiredness went away. AND, even weirder I have more energy than I did before! Now I start my morning with the ridiculously easy lemon water recipe below. And every once in a while I stand in the middle of a coffee shop because I can quit the coffee, but never that smell.
That's it! Enjoy!
PS - This clever sign got me to jump out of the car, take the picture, and stock up on Thin Mints. She's one smart cookie. See what I did there? So I went to Target for the usual, deodorant, face wash, cotton balls, but of course had to stop to look at the clothes. Can we all agree Target has seriously stepped up their fashion game? My find this week is this gorgeous, perfect sized, cruelty-free bag for only $34.99! Target - where you go in for one thing and leave $100 later. Another black bag to join the others in my closet!
Thank you Gracias Madre for reminding me of my childhood and getting me tipsy at the same time. "The Dude Abides" - one of the many scrumptious cocktails at Gracias.
Can't stop. Won't stop. Someone please take them away from me! But not really, I'll hurt you. All hail Trader Joe-San. Stay tuned for me making these myself next. Andrea Joe-San style.
Laptop, keys, wallet, gum, lip gloss, mirror, hairbrush, nail kit, random papers, powder, sunglasses, and the occasional random food I find. This bag fits it all and is the BEST everyday tote. And it's reversible! And comes with a wristlet! Just google Street Level to find where to get yours.
Lazy Oatmeal 1/3 Cup Rolled Oats 2/3 Cup Soy Milk (or almond, or rice, or coconut, or...) 1/2 Cup Chopped Frozen Cherries (or any berries!) 1 Scoop Protein Powder 1 Teaspoon Agave This one is super easy, super filling, and super yummy. I've never been a huge oatmeal person until I started making this. Way better than packaged dehydrated fake flavored oats! Also, these can last in the fridge for at least a few days so I make 3-4 at a time and just grab and go in the morning! 1. In a bowl, first add the oats, then the protein powder, then the fruit, then the milk, then the agave.
2. Add hot water for a creamier more oatmeal feel. I'm going to make this really easy on you and save you a ton of time in the grocery aisle. Garden of Life makes the best protein powder. Raw, vegan, blah blah but most important - it has the most amount of protein per calorie. I get the vanilla and put it in as much as I can. Smoothies, oatmeal, pudding, anything that can use a kick of protein! I just cut your grocery visit time by twenty minutes - you're welcome. http://www.gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Foundational-Nutrition/RAW-Protein.aspx
I miss grilled cheese and tomato soup. Wait, no I don't. I still have grilled cheese and tomato soup - but no cows were tortured for it! Lazy Tomato Soup 1 14.5oz Can of Canned Tomatoes 1 Cup Miso Ginger Broth (I only used because I was out of vegetable broth, but you can use veg) 1/4 Cup Fresh Basil, ripped or chopped 1 Tbsp. Garlic, Chopped 1/2 Medium Yellow/White Onion, Chopped Pinch of Oregano 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil 1. In a saucepan, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil.
2. Once the onions are soft, add the tomatoes, basil, oregano, and broth. 3. Let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Transfer to a blender or bullet and add salt or pepper to taste. 5. Toast some gluten free bread, smother it in butter, and eat with the soup. Then make another bowl and repeat. |
Andrea AdelmanVegan because of a love for animals. Afraid of the kitchen because I grew up on Top Ramen. Basically, I've lived most of my life hangry. My goal is to show you how easy it is to live satisfied and cruelty free, one meal at a time. Archives
